Founded in 1924, the Ecole Internationale de Genève (Ecolint) welcomes 4,500 students aged 3 to 18, representing more than 130 nationalities. Why this role matters
Languages are a powerful tool for developing multiliterate thinking, self-agency, and the ability to interact with the world. As our Teacher of Icelandic for the World Language Programme (WLP), you will be a passionate and dynamic educator, able to inspire students through a variety of creative teaching styles. Your role is to ensure that every student, whether learning Icelandic as a foreign or native language, develops the "future-ready" global competences that define the Ecolint mission to create a just and joyful tomorrow together.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
- Teach Icelandic as a foreign or native language to all levels in the WLP programme.
- Attend regular Department meetings.
- Regularly assess the progress of students and record and report those results to parents.
- Ensure curriculum entitlement and progression is achieved for all students.
Who we are looking for:
You will thrive in this role if you possess:
- Strong experience of teaching Icelandic.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Icelandic.
- Previous experience working in an international school is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in both French and English to effectively communicate within our diverse school community.
- Excellent classroom management, strong organisational skills, and good communication skills with colleagues and parents.
