As a LAMDA Speaking in Public teacher, you will guide students from primary through secondary school in developing essential life skills: clear thinking, confident communication, and audience engagement. In our device-free classroom, you will help students find their unique voice and prepare for formal LAMDA examinations, fostering the self-agency and poise that are central to the Ecolint mission.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver a year-long curriculum of structured, progressive sessions focused on spoken delivery.
  • Lead warm-ups, skill-building exercises, and masterclass-style sessions where students present prepared material.
  • Guide students in preparing and delivering speeches and presentations.
  • Coach essential skills, specifically focusing on clarity, confidence, and audience engagement.
  • Track student progress and prepare students for successful formal examinations and showcase performances.
  • Communicate with families, take accurate attendance, uphold safeguarding procedures, and potentially contribute to on-call cover teaching within the ENCORE programme.
     

Who we are looking for:

You will thrive in this role if you possess:

  • Relevant training, degree, or certification in a related field (e.g., communication, theatre, education, or equivalent experience).
  • Significant experience teaching or coaching public speaking, presentation, or communication skills to children and teenagers.
  • Strong personal experience in spoken communication (teaching, presenting, performing, or public speaking).
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required, as LAMDA examinations are conducted in English.
  • A valid Swiss work permit or Swiss/EU citizenship.

  • Confident in a teaching context with a strong classroom presence.
  • Skilled at developing confidence and clarity in young speakers.
  • Consistent and committed to the academic year-long programme.
  • Able to build rapport quickly with students and support their ongoing progress.
