As an On-Call Acting Coach, you play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of our LAMDA Acting curriculum. By stepping into established classes, you ensure continuity for our students, providing a consistent, insightful, and supportive environment where they can refine their craft, develop confidence, and prepare for successful formal examinations.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Deliver structured, engaging acting sessions using your own expertise or provided lesson plans.
  • Lead warm-ups and skill-building exercises tailored to acting development.
  • Facilitate a masterclass-style format in which students perform prepared monologues.
  • Provide clear, constructive, and precise feedback aligned with LAMDA learning outcomes.
  • Maintain a focused, supportive, and inclusive environment that nurtures artistic growth.
  • Take accurate attendance, uphold safeguarding procedures, and ensure a seamless handover for the regular class coach.

 

Who we are looking for:

You will thrive in this role if you possess:

  • Significant experience teaching or coaching acting to children and teenagers.
  • A strong foundation in acting technique and performance practice.
  • Relevant training, degree, or certification in acting or theatre (e.g., conservatory training or equivalent).
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required, as LAMDA examinations are conducted in English.
  • A valid Swiss work permit or Swiss/EU citizenship.
     

Your personal attributes:

  • Responsive in a cover-teaching context, able to hit the ground running.
  • Clear communication skills and a natural ability to command a room.
  • Precise in giving feedback and able to build rapport quickly with students to support their performance development.
