Teacher of LAMDA

Part-time: After school activities on our three campuses 

We are looking for an enthusiastic LAMDA teacher for our Primary and Secondary school. The post holder will be a passionate teacher with experience of teaching the LAMDA examinations programme. The post holder will be able to engage practically and imaginatively with the exam programme, and stimulate the passions and interests of young people in developing the craft of performance. Current programs include Acting, Public Speaking and Musical Theatre. Lessons are taught outside normal school hours.

The examinations are taught and taken in English.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching the LAMDA programs across different age groups and examinations levels
  • Communicating regularly with parents, students and other LAMDA staff
  • Organizing events throughout the year (showcases, examinations)
  • Teaching both group and individual lessons
  • Appropriately assigning examination levels to individual students
  • Working closely with students to develop their understanding and acquisition of performance skills
  • There may be opportunities for occasional teaching cover in the Theatre department

 

Professional experience required:

  • A working knowledge of the LAMDA examinations syllabus
  • Experience of teaching the syllabus or other, ideally across all grades and within different disciplines

 

Personal attributes required:

  •  Ability to inspire and support young people of all ages within their learning
  • Ability to communicate regularly and effectively with members of the ENCORE department, students and parents
  • Ability to take the initiative as required to develop the skills and confidence of students
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to appropriately assign material to students, which excites and inspires them
