Why this role is important:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and passionate Teacher of Mathematics who is dedicated to achieving the highest academic standards while fostering student well-being. As a holistic educator at La Grande Boissière, you will not only deliver engaging, concept-based mathematics lessons across the 11-18 age range but also play an active, vital role in our pastoral care and student mentor system.

 

Your Role and Responsibilities:

Teaching & Learning

  • Teach mathematics across all age groups in the Secondary School (ages 11 to 18), utilizing engaging, concept-based learning strategies.
  • Demonstrate an excellent understanding of mathematics pedagogy and how students best grasp mathematical concepts.
  • Utilize excellent classroom management and organizational skills to ensure a high-standard learning environment.
  • Support the Head of Department in driving the strategic development of the Mathematics department.
  • Contribute to enrichment activities, including the supervision of IB Extended Essays and departmental field trips.
  • Expertly integrate ICT tools into classroom learning.


Pastoral Care & Mentorship

  • Act as an advocate for student well-being and holistic education.
  • Take an active, dedicated role within our student mentor and pastoral care systems.

 

Who we are looking for:

Skills and Experience

  • Education: An appropriate university degree and a recognized teaching qualification in Mathematics.
  • Experience: Proven experience teaching the IB Diploma Programme (or an equivalent rigorous upper-secondary curriculum) is essential.
  • IT Skills: Excellent understanding and use of educational technology in the classroom.


Linguistic Skills

  • Fluency in English or French is required. A bilingual profile (English/French) is a distinct advantage but not essential.

  • Passionate, creative, and driven to achieve excellent outcomes for all students.
  • Empathetic, approachable, and eager to invest time in student mentorship and well-being.
