TEACHER OF GERMAN

Part-time – 6 periods as a first language German Teacher in our World Language Programme (WLP) for our Middle Years students with the potential to take over more courses.

 

Job purpose:

  • The post holder will be a passionate and dynamic teacher, able to inspire students through a variety of creative teaching styles, teaching German to native speakers according to the IB principals.

     

Responsibilities:

  • Teach German as a native language in the Middle Years Programme and potentially the Diploma Programme in the WLP programme (11 to 18 year old students).
  • Teach both language and literature elements of the curriculum
  • Attend regular Department meetings
  • Regularly assess the progress of students, record and report those results to parents

 

Personal requirements:

Professional experience required:

  • Strong experience of teaching German to IB Middle Years and Diploma Programme students
  • Ideally have experience of working in an international school setting.

 

Personal attributes required:

  • Native proficiency in German
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • Passionate about teaching and their subject area
  • Ability to work in French and English
  • Ensure curriculum is accessible to all students in line with our inclusive mission
  • Good communication skills with colleagues and parents.
