Street Dance teacher

Part-time for La Grande Boissière Campus
And for occasional replacements on all three campuses 

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic Street Dance teacher for our Primary, Middle and Secondary school. The post holder will be a passionate teacher with experience of teaching Street dance classes and possibly other dance styles. 
A Street Dance class is a dynamic and energetic opportunity for students to engage in a combination of dance techniques, fostering physical fitness, coordination, flexibility, and artistic expression in a fun and supportive environment.
The post holder will stimulate the interests and motivations of young people in developing the craft of performance. Lessons are taught outside normal school hours.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching inspiring and dynamic dance classes across different age groups
  • Communicating regularly with parents, students and other staff members
  • Organizing events throughout the year (showcases, end of year recital)
  • Working closely with students to develop their understanding and acquisition of performance skills
  • Animate the trainings
  • Rigorous administrative management of every aspect linked to the post
  • There may be opportunities for occasional teaching cover within the Dance department
     

Professional experience required

  • Professional Dance training such as Bachelor
  • “Jeunesse et Sport” Swiss diploma a distinctive advantage, or any dance related diploma. 
  • Strong Knowledge Hip-hop or Break Dance for children around 5 to 18 years old
  • Serious, dynamic, flexible
  • Valid work permit or Swiss citizen
  • French and English both spoken and written
     

Personal attributes required

  • Ability to inspire and support young people of all ages within their learning
  • Ability to communicate regularly and effectively with ENCORE team
  • Ability to take the initiative as required to develop the skills and confidence of students
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to appropriately assign material to students, which excites and inspires them
