The Ecolint Foundation is looking to engage a Physical Asset Planner, ideally with an architectural background, to complement its existing Leadership and Management teams.
As the Physical Asset Planner your objective will be to ensure the alignment of the Foundations property assets and design with Ecolint’s strategic pedagogical vision and objectives, adding non-financial and financial value as a result.
Working alongside the administrative leadership and Campus managements you will also be tasked with developing and overseeing the execution of projects supporting the Campus strategies, ensuring projects are high impact and offer great value, are of the appropriate quality, and are delivered on-time and to budget.


Main responsibilities:

The role will need to bring a tremendous institutional value in long-term continuity and detailed knowledge of physical Foundation Campuses. CapEx programme design and management (i.e. whole real estate portfolio and Foundation masterplanning). As such, it includes the following main responsibilities:

  • Anticipates and proactively resolves primary strategic issues for building design and planning.
  • Creates and, most importantly, translates data about space and budget into intelligible and actionable recommendations, proposals and presentations, using benchmarking to regional, national, and international peers.
  • Design champion for Buildings & Ground within the Foundation, understand how it can support and promote the Foundation’s principles, goals, and aspirations, consistent with the Foundation Strategic plan.
  • Focal point for external contact with authorities, commune, institutional neighbours, etc. The face of facilities for Ecolint as “the client” for external planners and architects, especially for larger and/or significant CapEx projects. Active participation in regional design and professional community.

Key objectives will include: 

  • Development of the Foundation and individual Campus asset investments strategies aligned with Foundation and Campus specific pedagogical strategies.
  • Support the development of the Foundation and Campus specific Capital Investment plans.
  • Ensure that the lifecycle of the property assets and the equipment is managed and that appropriate funds are planned for renovation or replacement.
  • Support the individual projects development, including supporting the analysis of the needs and development of the brief.
  • Support the project planning, including procurement strategies, identifying, and engaging appropriate professional teams and identifying appropriate contractors.
  • Oversee the appropriate tendering, negotiation and contracting of services and works.
  • Ensuring appropriate project governance and reporting.
  • Support the Campus Administrators in their role as MO (Maître d’Ouvrage) with project monitoring (AMO, Assistant Maître d’Ouvrage) on major projects.
  • Working with the Head of Sustainability, ensure that projects align with the sustainability and ecological aims of the Foundation. Visible internal leader to further strengthen the Foundation’s broad sustainability ambitions.
  • Working with the pedagogical leadership and departments - identify opportunities for students to learn from the development and execution of the projects.
  • Work to develop Campuses that are inclusive and a welcoming environment for all the community.
  • Ensure that the Ecolint community feels engaged in the process.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the regional and National planning laws, construction codes and construction law.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the local Real Estate market and opportunities or risks of neighbouring projects and developments.



  • Experience in working within a school community and with educators, students and the wider school community.
  • Experience in developing Real Estate occupancy strategies on a large scale, across multiple property types is an advantage.
  • Experience in developing long term investment strategies is an advantage.
  • Experience in overseeing and directing diverse teams, both internal and external consultants and suppliers.
  • Experience in working with organisations at Board level with a proven track record of securing approval for building designs.
  • Experience in working with local authorities and knowledge of requirements and processes.
  • Understanding of the International and Private school market.
  • Understanding of trends and developments in the Education sector.



  • Architectural and/or Planning training: 15+ years of experience, ideally with some international exposure.
  • Demonstrated substantial experience with educational facilities.
  • Creative approach to problem solving, ability to adapt to constraints to deliver.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and evaluate the needs of the Ecolint community.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and build relationships across all parts of the Ecolint community.
  • Strong organisational skills to be able to coordinate the multiple stakeholders, consultants and suppliers.
  • Determined approach whilst displaying calmness and patience.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in French and English is essential.
  • Thrives working in and learning from a multicultural and multilingual environment. 
  • Collegial attitude: making and maintaining strong relationships with all levels or people across the Foundation.
