Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of English B Department, the successful candidate will:

●    Independently work with small groups of students 
●    contribute to resource development within the department
●    support department initiatives and strategic planning and administration
●    be competent in using a range of strategies to develop language acquisition amongst speakers of other languages
●    Be committed to supporting and caring for the pastoral, academic and social needs of the students

 

Candidates requirements

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

●    A dynamic, flexible and committed approach to promoting the school’s mission
●    A clear passion for and vision of inclusive and holistic education
●    Experience in teaching English as a Second Language in a Secondary School setting
●    An understanding or awareness of both the IBO Diploma, Careers and Middle Years Programme with a specialism in teaching English B (Language Acquisition) 
●    Insight and initiative when using a multi-modal approach to classroom teaching
●    Awareness that students learn from a range of academic, social and cultural contexts being used in the classroom
●    Qualification to teach English language Acquisition
