Extended Support Programme (Replacement) Assistant

Full-time replacement (32  hours/week) from 11.09.2023 to 06.10.2023

Daily or longer replacements during the School year 2023-24

Responsibilities

  • Join a team of 12 people working with secondary school students who have severe needs
  • Work with individual students, or small groups and/or the ESP classroom in collaboration with other ESP assistants, under the supervision of the ESP teacher
  • Support students across academic subjects
  • Use adequate tools to contribute to the social and emotional development of the ESP students
  • Plan activities/lessons according to ILP goals
  • Provide appropriate feedback to the ESP teacher or class teacher on student achievement
  • Follow an individualised educational plan
  • Provide Regular communication with and feedback to parents
  • Participate in parent-student conferences as needed

 

Candidate requirements

  • Appropriate experience in Special Educational needs instruction
  • Knowledge and experience in working with students who need to follow a life skills program is desirable
  • Willing to continue training in order to develop new and stronger skills in supporting students with moderate to severe needs
  • Fluent French or English with a good command of the other language
  • Strong organisational skills, sense of initiative and ability to collaborate with subject teachers in order to facilitate student access to the curriculum
  • Open-mindedness, team player with ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and communicate with the various individuals in the school
  • Flexibility with working hours
  • Eligibility to work in Switzerland, preferably
