Rhonda Ross

Photo Rhonda RossRhonda Ross est une chanteuse et ancienne actrice américaine. Elle est la fille de la chanteuse et actrice Diana Ross.

En 2004, elle a sorti son premier album live, Rhonda Ross Live Featuring Rodney Kendrick. En 2013, elle rejoint sa mère en première partie de ses concerts lors de sa tournée In the Name of Love. En juillet 2016, Rhonda Ross a sorti son premier album studio In Case You Didn't Know.

Ola Pikula

Ola Pikula est une conseillère municipale de la ville de Mariupol, en Ukraine. Elle est également PDG et fondatrice d'Oxford English Centre Ukraine, un groupe de centres d'apprentissage de l'anglais qui proposent également des cours de langue spécifiques articulés autour de certaines professions.

Ola Pikula est aussi directrice de la communication de YaMariupol, une série de centres de soutien opérant dans différentes villes d'Ukraine pour la réhabilitation sociale, juridique, humanitaire, médicale et psychologique des résidents déplacés de Mariupol.

WAVE Trauma Centre

Le WAVE Trauma Centre est le plus grand groupe intercommunautaire de victimes en Irlande du Nord. Il a été fondé à l'origine par des veuves qui avaient perdu leur époux lors des “Troubles”, un conflit qui a duré de la fin des années 1960 à 1998 en Irlande du Nord. Créé à l'origine pour soutenir les personnes endeuillées, le groupe a vu sa mission élargie en 1995 pour inclure les personnes blessées et/ou traumatisées pendant le conflit.

Membre du WAVE Trauma Centre, Michael McConville est le fils de Jean McConville, l'une des personnes disparues d'Irlande du Nord, qui a été enlevée, assassinée et enterrée secrètement par l'IRA.

Dympna Kerr est la sœur de Columba McVeigh, qui figure également sur la liste des disparus d'Irlande du Nord, mais dont les restes n'ont jamais été retrouvés.

Tech2Peace

Tech2PeaceTech2Peace utilise le dialogue sur les conflits et les activités de renforcement de l'esprit d'équipe pour créer un espace sûr pour les jeunes de toutes origines et croyances.

 

 

 

B8 of Hope

B8 of HopeB8 of Hope promeut la construction de la paix et les initiatives de transformation au sein des sociétés civiles palestinienne et israélienne, en offrant visibilité, financement, mise en réseau et renforcement des capacités.

 

 

 

Boyd McKechnie

BarabarBoyd McKechnie est cofondateur et conseiller international du Centre Barabar, un espace de dialogue multiethnique au Kosovo, qui permet à la société civile et aux communautés de se réunir.

 

 

 

Swati Thiyagarajan

Swati Thiyagarajan est une documentariste et journaliste environnementale indienne basée au Cap, en Afrique du Sud. Elle fait partie de l'équipe du projet "Sea Change" en Afrique du Sud et est rédactrice en chef pour l'environnement à la chaîne de télévision indienne NDTV. 

Elle a reçu le Carl Zeiss Award, le Earth Heroes Award et deux Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards. Son travail en tant que rédactrice en chef pour l'environnement à NDTV a été salué au niveau international et elle a été décrite comme la doyenne du journalisme environnemental en Inde. La conférence sera en anglais.

Shola Mos-Shogbamimu

Shola Mos-ShogbamimuShola Mos-Shogbamimu, d'origine britannique et nigériane, est une militante politique des droits de la femme. Elle examine les politiques gouvernementales sous l'angle de l'égalité, de l'inclusion et de la diversité. Elle est également avocate à New York, en Angleterre et au Pays de Galle, avec une grande expertise dans le secteur de la finance. Elle est écrivaine, conférencière et commentatrice politique dans les médias grand public et en ligne.

 

 

Kehinde Andrews

Kehinde AndrewsKehinde Andrews est un académicien, un activiste et un auteur qui a notamment publié "Back to Black : Retelling Black Radicalism for the 21st Century" (2018). Il est le premier professeur de Black Studies au Royaume-Uni et a dirigé la mise en place du premier programme de Black Studies en Europe à Birmingham City University. 

Ses recherches portent sur les questions de race, d'ethnicité et de racisme, d'esclavage, de colonialisme, de race dans la politique et dans l'histoire, et sur la manière dont les communautés surmontent les inégalités.

Jordan Jarrett-Bryan

Jordan Jarrett-BryanJordan Jarrett-Bryan est reporter sportif, DJ, et journaliste pour Channel 4 News. Amputé sous le genou et portant une prothèse depuis l'âge de 18 mois, il a joué au basket-ball en fauteuil roulant au niveau national pendant 15 ans. Il a été sacré deux fois champion d'Europe avec l'équipe de Grande Bretagne junior de basket-ball en fauteuil roulant qu'il a dirigé en 2004. 

Jordan Jarrett-Bryan a été reporter pour la couverture primée de Channel 4 des Jeux paralympiques de Londres et de Rio en 2012 et 2016.

 

Steve Thompson

Steve ThompsonSteve Thompson est un ancien joueur de rugby et vainqueur de la Coupe du monde de rugby en 2003. Ancien talonneur le plus capé d'Angleterre, Thompson a également joué pour les Lions britanniques et irlandais et a disputé près de 200 matches pour les Northampton Saints. 

Steve a été diagnostiqué avec une démence précoce, résultat de collisions, commotions et blessures incessantes. Il fait désormais campagne pour améliorer le jeu et protéger ceux qui le pratiquent.

Rodolphe Villevieille

Rodolphe VillevieilleRodolphe Villevieille est vidéaste professionnel, chef opérateur, télé-pilote drone, monteur et activiste auprès de l’organisation Sea Shepherd France depuis 2017.

Après avoir passé une quinzaine d’années dans le monde du spectacle vivant à travailler en tant que régisseur et concepteur lumière, Rodolphe s’est tourné vers la prise de vue. Il excelle dans la réalisation de timelapses. Il compte à son actif plusieurs tours de la planète, avec un coup de cœur pour la Namibie. On peut voir ses images de drone dans différents documentaires sur Netflix comme le fameux "Seaspiracy" par exemple.

Passionné par l’image sous toutes ses formes, il met ses compétences au service de projets qui défendent ou mettent en valeur la planète. Rodolphe a effectué des missions dans le Golfe de Californie au Mexique, à Mayotte, dans le Golfe de Gascogne (France), au Libéria et au Bénin ainsi qu’en Antarctique.

Auteure et illustratrice, Cuny-Le Callet a gagné le "Prix BD Fnac France Inter 2023"

Cuny-Le Callet est diplômée de la section Image Imprimée de l'École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris. Elle prépare une thèse en arts plastiques et création contemporaine à l'Université Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne. Le sujet de sa thèse s'intitule « Témoigner et résister dans le couloir de la mort : contraintes, censure et Do It Yourself ». 

Elle s'intéresse notamment à la pratique des arts plastiques par les détenus condamnés à mort aux États-Unis. 

Anne-Frédérique Widmann, Karelle Ménine et Valentine Cuny-Le Callet
Anne-Frederique Widmann

Anne-Frédérique Widmann est journaliste d’investigation, productrice et réalisatrice suisse de documentaires. Son long métrage documentaire Free Men, qui raconte l'histoire de Kenneth Reams, un condamné à mort de l'Arkansas, et son combat pour la justice, est sorti en salles en 2018. Le film a remporté quatre prix dans des festivals internationaux, dont le prix spécial du jury au Festival international du cinéma d'Alger (FICA) 2018. Widmann travaille pour les magazines télévisés suisses Mise au Point et Temps Présent. Elle a remporté le prix Dumur 2019 du journalisme pour l'ensemble de sa carrière et est mariée au dessinateur suisse Patrick Chappatte.
 

Karelle MKarelle Menineénine est une artiste franco-suisse. En 2006, impliquée dans la campagne contre la surpopulation carcérale menée par Bernard Bolze, elle dirige l'édition de l'ouvrage "9m2", invitant des personnalités telles que Raymond Depardon, Florence Aubenas, Cabu, Honoré, Nancy Huston et Marie Desplechin à s'exprimer sur la question du respect du numerus clausus.
Elle reçoit pour ces ouvrages le Prix de la Fondation Pittard-de-l’Andelyn 2023.

Alexa Bakony

Alexa BakonyNée en Hongrie en 1992, Alexa Bakony a étudié la Réalisation de documentaires à l'Université des arts du théâtre et du film de Budapest (SZFE). Elle s'intéresse principalement aux relations humaines.

Son premier documentaire  long métrage , "Colors of Tobi", raconte l'histoire d'Eva, mère protectrice d'un adolescent transgenre, qui éprouve des sentiments contradictoires lorsque son enfant, Tobias, se débat non seulement avec son identité sexuelle, mais aussi avec son identité personnelle. Un voyage émotionnel de plusieurs années sur le thème de la libération, de l'acceptation et de la découverte de soi.

Azeem Rafiq

Azeem Rafiq est un joueur de cricket anglais qui a joué professionnellement en Angleterre pour le Yorkshire County Cricket Club. Il a été capitaine de l'équipe d'Angleterre des moins de 15 ans et des moins de 19 ans et, en 2012, il est devenu le plus jeune capitaine de l'équipe du Yorkshire et la première personne d'origine asiatique à le devenir.

En septembre 2020, Rafiq a porté des accusations de racisme et d'intimidation dans le Yorkshire. Un rapport indépendant a conclu qu'un certain nombre de ses accusations étaient fondées et l'affaire est devenue un sujet médiatique majeur au Royaume-Uni. Elle a entraîné plusieurs démissions au sein du club et a fait l'objet d'enquêtes.

Chris Lubbe

Chris Lubbe, ancien garde du corps de Nelson Mandela, est un conférencier qui se passionne pour les gens. Il est convaincu que nous avons tous la capacité d'avoir un impact positif et de rendre le monde meilleur afin qu'à l'avenir, plus personne ne soit jugé en fonction de la couleur de sa peau ou de son appartenance ethnique.

Chris a travaillé avec de grands leaders tels que Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu, Oliver Tambo, FW De Klerk, Colin La Foy. Il remercie ses parents Wilfred et Gladys Lubbe de lui avoir enseigné le vrai sens de l'humanité et, surtout, la façon d'aimer inconditionnellement.

Pierre Hazan et David Pratt

Pierre Hazan

Conférence en anglais.

Conversation entre Pierre Hazan, mediateur international des conflits armés et David Pratt, journaliste correspondant de guerre et photographe. 

Pierre Hazan est conseiller senior auprès du Centre pour le Dialogue Humanitaire, l’une des principales organisations actives dans la médiation des conflits armés. Il a conseillé des organisations internationales, des gouvernements et des groupes armés sur notamment les questions de justice, d’amnistie, de réparations, de commissions vérité, de disparations forcées et de droit pénal international et de droits de l’homme. Depuis mars 2022, il est a Richard von Weizsäcker fellow à la Fondation Robert-Bosch à Berlin. Son nouveau livre, paru en septembre 2022, s’intitule Négocier avec le diable, la médiation dans les conflits armés (Textuel).
Pierre Hazan a aussi travaillé au Haut-Commissariat de l’ONU pour les droits de l’homme et a collaboré avec les Nations unies dans les Balkans. Il fut membre du Groupe international de contact sur le conflit basque, qui a co-organisé en 2011 la Conférence de paix menant à la fin de la violence politique dans le Pays basque. Il a travaillé dans de nombreuses zones de conflit particulièrement en Afrique, dans les Balkans, au Proche-Orient et en Europe. Depuis novembre 2021 jusqu’à la fin 2022, Pierre Hazan a été également Commissaire au sein de la Commission reconnaissance et réparation en faveur des victimes des violences sexuelles commises par des membres d’instituts religieux catholiques en France. 

David PrattDavid Pratt est auteur, cinéaste, photographe et journaliste écossais qui a été nommé Journaliste écossais de l'année, Reporter de l'année et Rédacteur de l'année. Pratt est connu pour ses reportages et ses photographies de guerre, qui ont été présentés dans les documentaires Pictures from Afghanistan (2020) et Pictures from Iraq (2022). Il est l'auteur de Intifada - The Long Day of Rage.


 

Dialogue sur le Moyen-Orient

Quatre oratrices et orateurs se sont adressés à nos élèves au cours des mois de novembre et décembre 2023, donnant des perspectives diverses sur la situation au Moyen-Orient.

Emily Howard

Née à Liverpool et aujourd'hui installée à Manchester, Emily Howard a obtenu un diplôme en mathématiques et en informatique à l'université d'Oxford avant d'étudier la composition au RNCM et à l'université de Manchester. Emily Howard est passionnée de musique depuis son plus jeune âge, époque à laquelle elle jouait du violoncelle et explorait de nouvelles possibilités sonores. Elle a écrit sa première pièce à l'âge de 10 ans. Emily Howard nous expliquera comment elle utilise les schémas mathématiques pour composer sa musique et comment les mathématiques peuvent être créatives et amusantes.

 

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe est une auteure britannico-iranienne. Elle a été détenue dans une prison iranienne pendant plus de cinq ans après avoir été accusée à tort d'espionnage pour le compte de la Grande-Bretagne. Son histoire est très marquante, car elle a été détenue à l'isolement et a entamé une grève de la faim. Mme Zaghari-Ratcliffe travaillait à la Thomson Reuters Foundation, une organisation caritative indépendante de Thomson Reuters et de Reuters News, en tant que travailleuse humanitaire au moment de son arrestation.

 

Nichola McKee

Nichola McKee est la sœur de Lyra McKee, journaliste et auteure, assassinée en 2019 lors d'émeutes dans le quartier de Creggan à Derry, en Irlande du Nord. Nichola donne une conférence très inspirante et passionnée sur l'émotion, la souffrance et l'espoir.

 

 

 

Thomas Sparrow

Orateur invité Thomas SparrowThomas Sparrow, journaliste à la Deutsche Welt (DW), a grandi en Colombie et parle anglais, espagnol et allemand. Il a étudié en Pologne, a travaillé en Espagne ainsi qu'aux États-Unis et est basé en Allemagne depuis 2015. Reflétant cette perspective internationale, comprendre comment les différentes cultures perçoivent le monde est la plus grande passion de Thomas en tant que journaliste.
Thomas est également membre de l'équipe de vérification des faits de la DW et forme d'autres journalistes à la télévision en direct et au reportage fiable lors des flash info. Il nous parlera du journalisme dans le contexte de l'Europe centrale.
 

Alison Cope

Oratrice invitée Alison CopeAlison Cope est militante contre la criminalité au couteau. En 2013, son fils Joshua Ribera a été assassiné. Ce drame a poussé Alison à agir avec ferveur contre la violence. Elle aide désormais à prévenir la violence chez les jeunes en partageant l'histoire unique de la vie et de la mort de son fils pour aider à éduquer et informer sur les réalités et les conséquences de la violence chez les jeunes. Ses présentations percutantes soulignent l'importance de la prévention, la prise de conscience émotionnelle de l'impact des choix sur les êtres chers et la manière dont les jeunes gardent espoir en l'avenir. Elle utilise sa résilience et sa force pour éduquer et aider les autres à voir un avenir au-delà des expériences négatives.
 

Michael Barton

michael bartonMichael Barton, conférencier et auteur autiste, a pour objectif de faire passer le message de l'autisme et de la neurodiversité. S'appuyant sur plus de 30 ans d'expérience vécue en tant que personne autiste, il offre des points de vue et des perspectives qui sont à la fois éclairants et transformateurs. https://www.michaelbarton.org.uk

 

 

Dr Jim Down

Basé à Londres, le Dr Jim Down est consultant en soins intensifs et en anesthésie à l'University College London Hospitals. Pendant la pandémie de covid-19, il a assuré un roulement clinique à temps plein dans l'unité de soins intensifs de l'UCH. En 2021, Jim a écrit un livre fascinant intitulé Life Support, qui relate son expérience du traitement des patients atteints du covid-19 dans l'unité de soins intensifs de l'UCH au moment où la pandémie s'installait. Son deuxième livre, Life in the Balance : A Doctor's Stories of Intensive Care a été publié en 2023.

 

Michel Bauden

Michel Bauden"Témoignage de résistance durant la Seconde Guerre Mondiale, hommage à René Bauden et aux Compagnons de la Libération"

Michel Bauden est le fils de René Bauden, Compagnon de la Libération nommé en 1944. Depuis août 2022, il est délégué départemental de l'Association des Familles de Compagnons de la Libération dont le but est de maintenir la mémoire des 1038 Compagnons de la Libération désignés par le Général de Gaulle pour leur engagement dès 1940 et qui, à plusieurs reprises, ont œuvré pour la Libération de la France. Il est aussi délégué adjoint pour la Haute Savoie de la Fondation de la France Libre. Celle-ci maintient le souvenir de ces français, peu nombreux, qui se sont engagés entre juin 1940 et le 31 juillet 1943 dans l'armée créée par le Général de Gaulle après l'Appel du 18 juin 1940.

Holly Choe

Holly Hyun Choe est artiste associée de l'Orchestre de Chambre de Genève pour les saisons 2023 à 2026.

Née en Corée du Sud et élevée à Los Angeles, elle impressionne par sa présence et son charisme sur le podium. Ces deux dernières saisons, elle a été cheffe d’orchestre assistante à l’Orchestre de la Tonhalle de Zurich sous la direction de Paavo Järvi. Pendant cette période, elle a dirigé l’Orchestre de Paris, le Sinfonieorchester Basel, l’Orchestre national de Metz et l’orchestre du Schleswig-Holstein Festival.
