Course de l’Escalade

With over 40,000 participants, the Course de l'Escalade (Escalade race) is Geneva’s biggest annual sporting event. It is held each December in the old town of Geneva as part of the Escalade celebrations, which commemorate Geneva’s victory against the invading army of the Duke of Savoy in 1602.

Proud of our Genevan roots, and keen to promote the values of respect, fair-play and sharing which are at the heart of the Course de l’Escalade and our sports programmes, each year we invite our students, parents and staff to run under the Ecolint banner, a tradition that dates back over 10 years. The Ecolint team is regularly the largest team from any organization, with a record of 700 runners registered!

Year after year the Course de l’Escalade has become a regular and popular Ecolint event where students, staff and parents can get together and be part of a fantastic experience. It brings together all sectors of the community, elite runners, beginners, children from 6 years old and adults in a «family» atmosphere!

Since 2015, we have the great pleasure to be partner of the race and of the official training session which takes place in November through the Palais des Nations.

The Course de l’Escalade is organised by the independent association « Course de l’Escalade » and you will find out more about the race at https://www.escalade.ch/en/.

Please note that the race rules stipulated by the Course de l’Escalade organisers form part of the registration process and the full rules are available on the official website.  All students participating in the Course de l’Escalade do so under their sole and unique responsibility or that of their parent or legal guardian if they are still a minor. The International School of Geneva declines all responsibility in case of accident, tort or theft, howsoever caused. All participants must be personally insured.
