The oldest and largest of the three campuses of the International School of Geneva, La Grande Boissière is centrally located in Geneva in pleasant wooded grounds and is easily accessible via the efficient Geneva transport system. Coming to La Grande Boissière, your child will enjoy an international education alongside some 1,900 young people who are representative of the huge diversity of nationality and language of our school.
Our three schools, Primary (Pre reception to Year 4), Middle (Years 5 to 8) and Secondary (Years 9 to 13) benefit from high quality libraries, media centres, student ICT facilities, assembly halls and recreational areas tailored to the needs of each age group.We also have sports facilities including gymnasiums, a synthetic football pitch and sprint track, as well as outdoor multi-sport surfaces.
At La Grande Boissière your child can take full advantage of the two languages of instruction, English and French. Learning in either language, whichever of our programmes is followed, your child will have the chance to develop his or her bilingualism through academic, cultural and sports activities in both languages. Our Primary School offers English and French Programmes and the Middle School English and French Bilingual Programmes. From the age of 13 students in the Secondary School can then choose their subjects in French, English or a combination of the two, according to their language proficiency. Apart from actively promoting the acquisition of the other language of instruction, we also attach great importance to the maintenance and teaching of mother tongues. Our Campus facilitates the teaching of over 13 world languages to more than 200 students.
