Welcome from the Director General
As Director General since August 2011, I am delighted to be leading the Foundation of the International School of Geneva and am pleased to welcome you to our website. Our school, founded in 1924, offers education to 4'000 students of all nationalities, from ages 3 to 18, notably leading up to the International Baccalaureate. By visiting our website, you will learn more about our philosophy and the varied programmes offered at our campuses as well as information about admissions.
We seek to give all our students the opportunity to experience a unique international education and to acquire the personal attributes, outlook and knowledge that will equip them to play an active part in the construction of tomorrow’s world. In my first year, I had the pleasure of working with colleagues, parents and governing board members on the Strategic Planning Committee to review, through questionnaires, observation and focus groups, all aspects of the education that we provide. We concluded from our findings that there is much to celebrate especially that our students are universally happy at school and that staff:students relations make for a mutually respectful and productive experience. My own observation from my regular visits to our eight schools and from lesson observations is that we have exceptionally talented staff and that our students are highly-motivated, principled and exceedingly cheerful. As all schools are in constant evolution and because it is in the Ecolint DNA to strive always to do better, we have also agreed a set of strategic objectives. These are presented in the new document below 'Our Focus for the Future' which I hope you will read with interest. I welcome your thoughts and you can write to me at director.general@ecolint.ch.
